Beginner Windsurf Courses
Our beginner windsurfing courses here in Fuerteventura are suitable for anyone that has not windsurfed before and would like to try. We teach all our windsurfing courses in the lagoons of el Cotillo. This location is one of the best spots on the island to try windsurfing for the first time or work on improving your technique. The flat shallow water and consistent wind here in el Cotillo together with the correct beginner equipment make the learning process of windsurfing much easier, allowing you to progress much faster and feel the excitement of cruising across the open water. Beginner
What Will I learn?
Day 1
Day one is mostly an on-land session to teach you the theory of windsurfing. You will learn about the wind and water conditions, How to set up the equipment and how to handle a rig on the beach. You will learn the basic sailing positions on our simulator, we will show you how you can use the sail to turn the board around. At the end of this session, we will go into the water to practice some board balancing skills.
Day 2
On day two, we will go into the water and practice the basic windsurfing techniques. You will learn to sail across the wind in both directions. Turn the board around and steer the board towards and away from the wind whilst controlling the power in the sail. By the end of day 2 you will be comfortable sailing across the wind and making basic 90 degree turns.
Day 3
On day 3 you will learn how to position the sail to make better progression upwind, We will teach you how to tack (Turn the board towards the wind) and you will learn to gybe (Turning the board away from the wind) By the end of day 3 you will be able to windsurf in both directions, sail upwind and downwind and perform basic tacks and gybes.
Duration: 3 Days
Time: 3-4 hours each day

Renewal Windsurf Courses
Our renewal course has been created for anyone who has had a little windsurfing experience but has not practiced for some time. This course will help you remember the basics of windsurfing and begin to teach you new techniques, allowing you to confidently sail across the water. We teach all our renewal courses in the lagoons in el Cotillo. With their flat, shallow water and consistent winds makes this spot the perfect place to recap your knowledge, renew your skills and to continue to progress in windsurfing.

What Will I learn?
Day 1
On day 1 we will recap all the basics, giving you a solid foundation to improve on your windsurfing skills. You will learn to sail across the wind, steer the board in both directions, control the sails power, and how to make progress towards the wind. At the end of the first day, you will be able to windsurf in both directions, turn the board around with confidence and be more comfortable controlling the sail’s power.
Day 2
On day 2 we will improve on the techniques learned in your first session, You will learn an improved method to turning the board towards the wind (Tack) and learn how to turn the board away from the wind (Gybe) We will work with you to improve your upwind sailing, power control and windsurfing stance. At the end of this lesson, you will be able to windsurf in all directions and be confident turning the board around with losing any speed or balance.

Improver Windsurf Courses
Our Improver windsurfing course is designed for anyone that has completed our 3-day beginner, renewal course or has completed about 30 hours of windsurfing before. We run all our Improver courses in el Cotillo lagoons. The conditions at this location are perfect for anyone that would like to improve their windsurfing level and progress onto more intermediate techniques.
Improver
What Will I learn?
Day 1
On the first day of the improver course you will learn how to use vision, counterbalance, stance, trim and sail power to improve your upwind riding. You will learn how to Fast Tack the board through the wind whilst maintaining fast board speed and without losing balance. You will learn how to position your body to control the sail’s power and begin to work on the rig recovery for the Beach Starts. By the end of the first session, you will be confident going upwind, making great progress with your fast tacks and well on your way to learning the beach start.
Day 2
On the second day, you will learn the beach start technique of stepping up on the board from the beach and sailing away. We will teach you how to gybe the board downwind with speed. Use vision, counterbalance, stance and power to control the turn. You will learn the foot work needed to complete a gybe with style. Towards the end of the second day, we will combine all these skills together, allowing you lots of time to practice each technique.

What's Next
To enjoy windsurfing with smaller kit in stronger winds, the next step would be the waterstart. Many of the techniques of the waterstart are the same as the beach start, making the learn curve slightly less. If you would like to learn the waterstart, please speak to your instructor to check the availability.
