Wing Foil Courses
Our wing foil courses are suitable for everyone and no previous experience is required to learn this exciting new sport. Learning to wing foil is much easier to learn than other watersports and in a short time and with a bit of practice, you will be cruising across the water, riding waves, or having some friendly competition races with friends. We run all our wing foil courses in flat water, providing you with a safe environment to learn the basics and build your confidence. Our expert instructors will teach you everything you need to know, making sure you are comfortable at every stage. We offer 2 courses, the first is a 2-hour taster session to give you a feel of what the sport is like. If you would like to take it one step we would recommend our 4-day course which is designed to get you up and riding the foil.
Wing Foil Courses
What Will I learn?
Session 1
Session 1 is a 3-hour session where you will learn the basics of wing foiling. We start off with a short theory session on the beach. On the beach you will learn about the wind, and how to set up the equipment, You’ll get your first chance to control the wing on the beach, allowing you to feel confident controlling the power before going into the water. We will then go into the water with a big floaty board and wing and practice controlling the wing and board together. By the end of the first session, you should have the basic skills to ride a big board with the wing.
Session 2
Session two is a 2-hour session and kicks off with a short recap from session one before getting straight into the water. In this session, we continue to coach you with the basics and introduce to you how to tack and gybe. By the end of the session, you will have a good understanding of how to ride in a straight line across the wind, turn the board towards the wind (tack) and turn the board away from the wind (Gybe).
Session 3
In session 3 we introduce you to the foil board and practice sailing with the foil board and wing together. Once you are confident in controlling the equipment, we will begin to coach you on the technique to bring the board out of the water and ride on the foil. Once you are able to get up on the foil, we will work on keeping the board out of the water by controlling the power in the wing and correctly balancing the board, allowing you to glide effortlessly across the water.
Session 4
In Session 4 you will be able to put all the skills from previous lessons together and enjoy blasting across the water. At this point, we will encourage you to keep practicing and work with you to improve your turning technique. At the end of this course, you should have the basic understanding and skill to set up the equipment, ride with the wing and foil, and be making good progress with your tacks and gybes.
